Parent Teacher Friend Association

Hodgson School has a Parent Teacher Friend Association (PTFA). All parents are automatically members of the PTFA, and this group undertakes very important work on behalf of students.

The PTFA has a shop on the school premises that sells Hodgson uniforms directly from the manufacturer, thus bypassing high street retailers. This give parents the opportunity to purchase high quality uniforms at competitive prices. It also enables the PTFA to raise funds for the school. All profits made by the shop are put back into the school for the benefit of all students.

The PTFA has amassed a staggering £80,000, through the shop and various fundraising activities, over the past eight years. This money has been used for a range of projects, which include improving the school buildings and boosting our specialist teaching and sporting equipment. A total refurbishment of the Year 10 and 11 boys’ and girls’ toilets has been made possible in recent years due to PTFA monies. Hodgson is immensely grateful for the wonderful work undertaken by Hodgson’s PTFA.

PTFA volunteers are always needed to help in the Uniform Shop or during one-off school events. All volunteers are only expected to give as little or as much time as they feasibly can.

The PTFA’s monthly meetings are staged at the school on the first Wednesday of every month (term time only), from 6.30pm.

 

 

PTFA UNIFORM SHOP OPENINGS

The PTFA Uniform Shop is open on Saturdays, 10am-12 noon, and Wednesdays, 5pm-7pm.

• The School Uniform Shop will be closed on Saturday 13th February 2010 and Wednesday 17th February 2010. The shop will reopen on Saturday 20th February 2010.

The shop will also be open on the following additional dates:

Thursday 4th February 2010 - 6.30pm to 8pm (KS4 Market Place)
Tuesday 9th February 2010 - 6.30pm to 8pm (Year 11 Subject Review Evening)
Thursday 25th February 2010 - 6.30pm to 8pm (Year 10 Subject Review Evening)
Tuesday 30th March 2010 - 4.30pm to 6.00pm (Year 7 Subject Review Evening)

Any purchases in the Uniform Shop can be paid for using MAESTRO, DELTA, VISA, MASTERCARD, CHEQUE or CASH. Please note that special order items (ie. not in stock) can take between eight to 10 weeks to arrive from the supplier.
           
The Uniform Shop’s latest 2009-10 price list can be viewed here. Current Price List available for download here (Excel spreadsheet file) This order form can also be printed off and returned to the school office, to be collected and processed by the PTFA on a Wednesday or Saturday (term-time only). The PTFA will then telephone to notify you that the items are ready for collection and your child can pick them up from the school office.
