School Bus Information – February 2010

In order to make bus services from Cleveleys to Hodgson more effective, Lancashire County Council has put the following changes in place as of Wednesday 3rd February 2010.

Service 546 that runs from Cleveleys Bus Station, starting at 8.00am, will now NOT stop at the bus stop on West Drive, nearest to the Coop Store. This is the Bus Stop at the junction of West Drive and Fleetwood Road.

This means that students who usually get on the 546 Bus Service at this bus stop will need to get on the 660 Bus Service, at the bus stop opposite the Bourne News Paper Shop, on Fleetwood Road.

Please Note: the 660 Service leaves the Bourne News Paper Shop at 8.00am.

The new timetables can be found here

Yours sincerely,

B. Allison

We’re Just Getting Better– Blackpool Gazette – Thursday 14th January 2010

FYLDE coast schools are improving as they work to help every student achieve to the very best of their ability.

In league tables, schools are assessed not only by their performance at GCSE but also how much schools contribute to the success of the students.

The Contextual Value Added score allows schools to be compared on a level playing field around an average figure of 1,000.

It measures the progress students have made from beginning of high school to finishing their GCSEs and takes into account factors such as social background.

On the Fylde Coast, many schools reported extraordinary levels of success in terms of their CVA score.

Hodgson School has continued its incredible run of academic success as its score has leapt up 20 points to a whopping 1034.1 – up from 1014.3 last year.

Tony Nicholson, headteacher at the Moorland Road school in Poulton, said: “We are particularly thrilled with our best ever CVA score of 1034.1.

“All our student groups, boys and girls and students of different abilities including the able, gifted and talented, achieved extremely well and contributed to this exceptional result.”
